Why do we do the things that we do here at Phlatboyz?
Our mission statement has always been to make cutting edge tools &
technology accessible to anyone who has the passion, imagination, and the
desire to expand the limits of what is possible.
We believe by doing this the world will be a better place
because it will enable you to do great things.
How do we do it?
We use economical alternative solutions for our materials without compromising
quality and we provide education through hands on assembly kits.
What do we do?
We design and manufacture affordable machine tools
While designing our Phlatboyz planes aka The Phlat Fleet, we became frustrated with hand cutting a new plane every time we wanted to tweak the design. We researched CNC machines and they were all very expensive. The ones that seemed to be in our price range were unable to cut materials large enough. So, we created the Phlatprinter which is an affordable CNC Machine that was specially designed for the R/C modeler.
After years of personal use, we introduced it to the R/C world via www.rcgroups.com
. The response was overwhelming! In short time, we produced an affordable Phlatprinter Kit so anyone else that felt the same way we did would be able to afford to purchase their own CNC machine and unleash their creativity.
We are now on our third generation of the Phlatprinter and have added The Phlatformer (vacuum forming machine) to our list of Phlatboyz machines.
We have come to find out the uses for the Phlatprinter are certainly not limited to the R/C Community. We have architects, universities, CAD classes in high schools, and even Nasa Laboratories using the Phlatprinter.
We have attended The Toledo Show two years in a row and have been featured in AMA Magazine's Worth a Closer Look Section. We have a LIVE Phlat Lab Show every Wednesday Night at 8:00 pm EST on our support forum, The Phlatforum
. You can also listen to our monthly podcast interview on The Crash Cast.
